Easy to hook up connect and 17,000 stations easy to program. Great item and worth the price.

Ohh- FYI- the model numbers-PIR-5 or 4 or 3 etc refer to colors not model variations. All the same radio. The prices when I bought 2 weeks ago were different by as much as 10-12 dollars so shop around. I have the white one. If you want to spend more for a radio that looks like its made for halloween or is dressed in pretty designer pink or purple to match the curtains - go for it.

The But:- Its annoying that if FM capability was generously included as a feature, then at least make it workable and provide it with capabilities for it to receive the stations. I live on LI just outside of NYC with 2 dozen FM stations available. This little thingy was able to pick up just 3 clearly. IT NEEDS AN EXTERNAL ANTENNA.

It is portable, has a very good speaker with plenty of volume to fill a room, and the rechargeable battery will run 8-10 hours on a charge. The radio was simple to set up initially and is very user-friendly to operate. It picked up my router as soon as I set it up; approximately five minutes including reading the instructions. I use it all over my home and my yard. The internet connection is stable and rarely loses the wifi signal. The radio is subject to the eccentricities of the internet and streaming audio just as a home or laptop computer but that's to be expected. All in all, this is an excellent buy for anyone hooked on internet radio.
Reviews for Mutant MIG-PIR-5 M-Wavio Portable Pocket-Sized WiFi Internet Radio with AM/FM Radio (Tangerine) (Electronics) I've had my Mutant Internet radio for several months now, and don't really have much to add to the other 5-star reviews, but I can't figure out why this receiver isn't better known.

I use mine as a shirt-pocket receiver with cheap heasphones (no headphones or earbuds included with the radio). The internal speaker works ok, but it's not something I'd listen to for any length of time.

Ease of use and reliability make this ideal for use around the house and on my patio.

Be aware that it includes a USB charger but if you want to charge it (as I do) without having to tie up a USB port on your desktop computer you'll need to spend a couple bucks for a wall-wart charger with USB plug for it.

Pros:

Easy to use. You'll be listening to stuff you like ten minutes after you begin setting it up.
Sound is excellent thru headphones or earbuds.
Works on FM too, but I haven't used that much.

Cons:

No identifier of song titles (I forgot what that's called...this radio doesn't tell you name of song and artist as you're listning).
Names of stations when you search are less that helpful. Stations may be identified as "102.9 The River" with no call letters or even city names when you search--you may know the state in which the station is located, but not the city.

But I forgive those minor shortcomings. After all, the screen is the size of a postage stamp (it's a PORTABLE), so how much info can you cram into it?

If I were to drop it and break it, I'd order another in a flash.

I believe this is a superbly engineered receiver. If you have WiFi, get one.
